Join The Black Sip for an intimate, "grown-folks" date night centered on the film that defined a generation’s view of vulnerability and art: Love Jones. This isn't just a movie night—it’s a celebration of Black culture, storytelling, and the winemakers rewriting the industry’s future.

Why We Sip

While Black people make up over 10% of U.S. wine consumers, Black-owned wineries account for less than 1% of the industry. At The Black Sip, we are closing that gap. We believe wine culture should be accessible, not intimidating. We’ve created a warm, judgment-free space for our community to discover their palates, explore new flavors, and support the visionary Black winemakers who are often overlooked but never outclassed.

• The Cinema: A private screening of the iconic classic, Love Jones.
• The Pour: A guided tasting featuring 3 selections from premier Black-owned wineries. Wines will only be exclusively avaliable at the event.
• The Spotlight: Meet Detroit’s own Tamela C. Todd, the winemaker behind Library of Rosé, and hear her journey as a leader in the industry.
• The Vibe: Smooth R&B and Neo-Soul, thoughtful dialogue, and a stylish, safe space for you and your partner to truly connect.
