5 Cheap Wines That Absolutely Do Not Suck!
~Do you want to enjoy a sophisticated evening of wine tasting or get your drink on without breaking the bank? Isn’t that what we all want, anyway? When you drink wine in bars and restaurants, you start to believe that good wine has to be expensive. The good news is - that’s not true at all! You can drink your favorite red or white on a budget without compromising the taste. What if I told you that you could support a black-owned business while at it?
We’re here to tell you that you don’t need to spend more than $25 on a bottle of great wine. Here are some cheap wines that taste better than you’d think!
- The Guilty Grape - Chardonnay ($24)
The Guilty Grape is run by twin sisters Nichelle and Nicole Nichols. The women-owned wine brand is taking the world by storm with its reasonably priced Chardonnay. It is exactly what you would expect from a Chardonnay: classy, light, and fresh. Best consumed on a Sunday afternoon with the girls. The wine features notes of pear and apple. It is rather dry and crisp.
- Love Cork Screw - “Good Times Good Friends” Pinot Grigio ($18)
The story of Love Cork Screw began when the founder of the brand, Chrishon Lampley, drew inspiration from her blog. These three words stood out and birthed this hip and trendy wine brand. All the wine from Love Cork Screw is very affordable, but the Pinot Grigio takes the cake. The wine is medium-bodied and very flavorful, with some notes of apple and pear. Combine it with seafood, meat, cheese, and good friends, of course!
- Maison Noir Wines - “Love Drunk” Rosé ($25)
Maison Noir Wines were originally created for some of New York’s best restaurants. That’s because André Hueston Mack, the founder of the wine brand, is a sommelier. You best believe he knows good wine, and this flavorful Rosé is no exception. It is flirty, fun, and sexy; perfect for a new romance. The wine features notes of strawberry and raspberry, along with watermelon and a hint of kiwi.
- FLO Wine - “FLO” Cabernet Sauvignon ($20)
For the Love Of Wine! That’s right, that’s what the name of this brand stands for. Started by Marcus Johnson, a Jazz Pianist with a sense of humor and great taste in wine, this brand is very affordable. Not much needs to be said about Cabernet. It’s a rich and traditional red that very few dare to dislike.
- Charles Wine Company - 2018 Symphony ($17)
Charles Wine Company is a family-owned wine business. The brand’s mission is to show America some of the best wines from the state of California. It all started with a passion for wine, and look where Charles Wine Company is now! Symphony is a semi-sweet combination of Muscat and Grenche Gris. Expect apricot, melon, and honeysuckle in a bottle. The flavors of peach, sweet pineapple, and citrus tie the wine together and create a sensual experience with every sip.
